One of my all time favorite movies is Three Days of the Condor, starring Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway. In this thriller from 1975 Redford’s character sees a few B&W photos on the wall of Dunaway’s character. He asks her why she takes “Such lonely pictures,” and the characterization fits the photos very well.

I thought of that movie scene recently when I looked out the window near sunset – there was almost no color visible and the stark monochrome appearance recalled the movie photos.
