Rattlesnakes Only Sign at BTA

Rattlesnakes Only

Well, I hope we see some birds on the walk I’ll be leading at Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Sunday, February 14, 2010. But if not we’ll look for whatever else we can find. The walk begins at the Visitor Center at 8:30 am and usually takes 2-3 hours to complete. Participation on the walk is free, but there’s an admission charge to the arboretum. Birders of any skill level are welcome – there are even loaner binoculars available at the Visitor Center for novices.

Photographers are also welcome, but just be aware that my focus will be on locating and observing birds and you’ll probably need to lag behind if you want to try to photograph any of them.

The trail has reopened after being closed from the excessive rain of a few weeks back, so we’ll be able to cover the complete main trail where this “Rattlesnakes Only” sign discourages people from getting off the path.

Bird diversity and numbers have been below normal lately, but the pair of Rufous-backed Robins I discovered there a few months ago continue to be seen.

More details on what to expect can be found in this previous post, and the results of he walk I led in October is also available here.

For more of my posts and photos from Boyce just select “Boyce Thompson Arboretum” from the category pulldown menu locted below the search field in the right column.

  1. I love that sign. I never have taken a picture of it!
