White-crowned Sparrow just for fun

On a recent visit to the Gilbert Water Ranch I encountered some White-crowned Sparrows that had evidently been bathing in the water below this tree. Surprisingly this bird stayed put and let me get a number of different views from a close position. This one is my favorite of the series as I like the comical look of the fluffed out feathers at both sides.

For those who prefer less humor, here’s another shot of the same bird looking less disheveled.

    I just started takiing photos of birds (and Blog) and it is pretty difficult…so I think you are amazing!!
