Curve-billed Thrasher
It seemed like there were more bird photographers than birds at the Gilbert Water Ranch on Sunday morning. It was nice being out in cooler weather (for Phoenix) and under untypical (for Phoenix) overcast skies early in the day and catching up with a couple friends I hadn’t seen recently.
The only image from Sunday that had enough promise to get some of my dwindling time was this Curve-billed Thrasher we encountered on a branch ahead of us along one path. Normally they don’t hang around, or at least get into cover, so I was happy to get off a few shots before this bird moved on.
Nikon D200, 300/2.8 F-S lens with TC20E (2x), ISO 200, 1/60th at f/8, spot metered.
